Event Description:
Melinda Huntley, Executive Director of the Ohio Travel Association, will speak on tourism and the impact it has on our region.

The Power of Travel and Travel Promotion: Driving Business, Jobs and Economic Development When people hit the roads exploring Ohio, they spend money. In fact, the 219 million travelers through Ohio generate $44 billion in economic activity each year for Ohio communities and support more than 428,000 jobs. We’ll take an up-close-and-personal look at the flow of the traveler dollar in our communities, and how a local economy that invests in travel and tourism as part of its economic development strategy can reap rewards. We’ll also talk about how travel promotion helps fuel this cycle of spending and the role of front-line jobs in transforming Ohio’s workforce.
